the approach

How I work, what the Enneagram actually is, and why none of this is about putting you in a box.

Most of us spend years trying to change our behavior without ever understanding the pattern underneath it. We promise to react differently next time. We read the books. And then the pressure arrives — the argument, the deadline, the news at dinner — and the old groove catches us anyway. My work starts from a different place: not “what should you do differently,” but “what pattern are you running, and what has it been protecting?”

what the enneagram actually is

The Enneagram is a map of nine patterns people run under stress — nine distinct ways of seeing the world, protecting ourselves, and pursuing what matters. What makes it more useful than a personality quiz is where it points: not at your behavior, but at the motivation underneath it. Behaviors change with circumstances; the deeper drivers stay remarkably consistent. That's why the same fight keeps happening in different costumes.

I'm an accredited Enneagram practitioner (trained through The Art of Growth), and I use it the way a good guide uses a map: to help you find where you are, name the terrain, and choose a different path. At its best, it answers the questions that quietly run our lives: Why do I react the way I do? Why do certain relationships feel so hard? Why do I keep repeating the same patterns — and what is actually in the way of the life I want?

this is not about putting you in a box

The most common misconception about the Enneagram is that it labels people. The opposite is true. The point is not to tell you who you are — it's to uncover the patterns that have shaped you, so there's more room to be fully yourself. You are not a problem to fix, and you are not a number. The pattern is something you run; it was never the whole of you. As awareness grows, so does choice — and choice is the entire game.

how the work unfolds

Name it. We find your pattern — usually faster than you'd expect. Not as a verdict, but as a working hypothesis you'll test in your own life. Most people feel the “oh, that's me” moment in the first conversation.

See it. You start catching the pattern in real time — in the conversation, in the reaction, in the moment before the moment. This is where the work gets practical: real situations from your week, mapped and understood, including what the pattern has been protecting you from all along.

Shift it. With the pattern visible, you finally have somewhere to stand outside it — and from there, a real choice about what to do instead. The shift is rarely dramatic. It's a small, specific move, made at the exact moment the old groove usually wins. Done enough times, it changes how you relate, parent, and live.

who this is for

I work with individuals who want to understand their own reactions, couples stuck in a loop neither one chose, and families — blended ones especially — where several patterns share one roof. The door in is the same for everyone: find your pattern, and we go from there.
